Salvation
After the 144,00 are sealed and the church is raptured in Revelation 7 is there any evidence that other people are saved?
According to Joel even
after the Day of the Lord begins, God's purpose is to redeem people
to love Him.
Joel 2:1 (NIV) Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on
my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of
the LORD is coming. It is close at hand-- {2} a day of darkness and
gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the
mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old
nor ever will be in ages to come.
Joel 2:10 (NIV) Before them the earth shakes, the sky
trembles, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer
shine. {11} The LORD thunders at the head of his army; his forces
are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The
day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it? {12}
´Even now,´ declares the LORD, ´return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.´ (emphasis added)
I believe God's heart is "not wanting anyone to perish but everyone
to come to repentance." (2 Pet. 3:9) Furthermore, even in the
judgments it is stated that God's desire is for mankind to repent...
Rev 9:20 (NIV) The rest of mankind that were not killed by
these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they
did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze,
stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk. {21} Nor did
they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual
immorality or their thefts.
Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21 both state that on the Day of the Lord
"everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." It is
important to note that although the Day of the Lord begins on a
single day when the church is raptured, that day begins the Day of
the Lord's wrath which will continue. So, the Day of the Lord is
the period beginning with the rapture and continuing thereafter.
So, I believe the "everyone who calls" applies throughout the
judgments.
Isaiah prophesied...
Isaiah 14:1 (NIV) The LORD will have compassion on Jacob;
once again he will choose Israel and will settle them in their own
land. Aliens will join them
and unite with the house of Jacob. (emphasis added)
Zechariah 2:10-12 (NIV) "Shout and be glad, O
Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,"
declares the LORD. {11} "Many nations will be joined with
the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live
among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to
you. (emphasis added)
Therefore, I DO believe that there will be many saved after the Day
of the Lord commences. However, we are also told in 2
Thessalonians...
2 Thess 2:9 (NIV) The coming of the lawless one will be in
accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of
counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, {10} and in every sort of
evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they
refused to love the truth and so be saved. {11} For this reason
God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will
believe the lie {12} and so that all will be condemned who have not
believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. (emphasis
added)
So, although I believe many will be saved, I also believe it will be
very difficult for a lost person to believe the truth. I wouldn't
want to take the chance!
